About WBIA

  • Founded in 1988 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
  • Has over 60 members including over 30 incubation facilities, making WBIA the fourth largest state incubation organization in the nation.
  • Approved as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt corporation in 1999.
  • Governed by an eleven member Board of Directors.
  • Has twice hosted the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) internation-al conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  • Sponsors quarterly networking and training meetings around the state and an Annual Entrepreneurship/Incubation conference.
  • Has maintained representation on the NBIA Board of Directors throughout most of that organization’s history.
  • Has sponsored regular and continuing self-assessment of its members’ incubation programs through comprehensive surveys in 1990, 1993, 1996, 1999 and 2002.
